The preparation of pneumatic parts
The switches are dissasembled. The back plate is removed, the switch is cleaned of the original Lego lubricant, which we call "the goo". The inlets are bored, the drilling residue is removed, the switch is cleaned one more time and prepared for the resealing.
What we just described is pretty much routine. The crucial and most time consuming part is the resealing process, after which the switch is tested for compression. In case that the compression is compromised, the whole procedure is repeated.
Estimated time per switch: 45 minutes
The black cap is carefully removed. The cylinders need to be modifyed with great care as any irregularities inside would compromise the compression.
Same as with the switches, the stock Lego lubrication goo is removed. The inlets are bored, and any residue from this process is removed. The cylinder is then relubed with silicon lubricant and reassembled.
Estimated time per cylinder: 25 minutes
