Part one - Compressor

The air compressor consists of 3 main parts:

  • Electric motor
  • Pump
  • Air tank

The electric motor drives a crankshaft, which operates the cylinders in the pump. The Pump sucks in air and compresses it with the help of 2 one way valves into the air tank, where the air is stored.

The more volume a compressor has, the longer it can sustain a reasonable amount of pressure to run the engines. Standard air compressors usually come with a vollume ranging from 30-60 liters. Small portable ones are usually sized anywhere from 5-10 liters.

The compressor also has gauges to check the remaining pressure and it has connectors for pneumatic hoses.
